Lanna & Ashley Wedding, Burham Beeches Hotel, Bucks

October was very busy in terms of weddings for me and the first was the lovely wedding of Lanna and Ashley at the Burnham Beeches Hotel in deepest rural Buckinghamshire. The ceremony was at Burnham Beeches then the bridal party relocated to the 15th century Tudor Barn just 2 minutes down the road for a fab champagne reception. As usual the day started with the bride getting ready, Lanna had chosen a particularly stunning gown by Sassi Holford called Venus which was a gorgeous floaty Grecian style dress with chiffon overlay supplied by the Ellie Sanderson Bridal Boutique which seems to be gaining an unrivalled reputation amongst brides and the online chat rooms of the likes of You & Your Wedding as “the place” to buy a designer wedding dress. I always think that a Friday wedding is a lovely idea as everyone gets a big celebration on the day and then 2 days to recover from the excesses!. Ashley the groom and his groomsmen was resplendent in the tartan dress of I assume the Maw clan which is his family name. After some photos at Burnham Beeches we moved across to the Tudor Barn which is a stunning barn complete with lots of really interesting places for photographs such as a little folly which is hidden away in the trees we used on the pre-wedding shoot. Lanna even was persuaded to do some shots being picked up by the whole stag party which she is cracking up in and look fab (a really good sport!) I stayed on to capture the first dance at this particular wedding and was able to get a great light-meter reading from the spotlight in advance meaning the photographs were perfect. Lanna & Ashley headed off to South Africa and Mozambique their honeymoon whilst I got to work editing down the photographs. We got some great shots and most importantly the couple love them which is what it is all about!
