Pre-wedding shoot with Megan & Jon, Notley Abbey, Buckinghamshire

Did this engagement/pre wedding shoot a few weeks back at Notley Abbey in Haddenham, Bucks, a venue I will be visiting several times this summer to shoot weddings. Notley Abbey is a unique combination of the new and the very old. Grade 1 listed and a Scheduled Ancient Monument dating back to the 12th century it is also a glorious 21st century home.
A medieval wall to the Abbott’s private garden provides the site for external Civil Ceremonies whereas the Abbott’s Hall (Drawing Room to Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh when Notley Abbey was their home) is the inside site for a Civil Ceremony.
With the river Thame running through the grounds there is a wonderful choice of reception locations and wedding photography spots. Megan and Jon are of course hoping for lovely weather for their wedding in the height of summer on the 21st August so they can get married outside in the walled gardens, sounds idylic eh?. Oh yes and as Megan is Australian the ceremony will be webcast back to Oz live via the Abbeys webcam facilities, now that’s cool!!
