South Farm Wedding of Dean & Isabel, Cambridgeshire

Isabel & Dean hired me to photograph their South Farm wedding in beautiful  rural Cambridgeshire and amazingly for a wedding venue out of my usual areas of Oxford, Berks and Bucks I had indeed photographed South Farm before at the wedding of my nephew and godson. Knowing the venue can be an advantage when it is somewhere like South Farm as there are so many photographic opportunities it’s useful to know where to go as some of the spots are not so obvious. To say the gorgeous yellow and blue South Farm is in the middle of nowhere is an understatement and it can be tricky to find but once you are there it is very much a distinctly different venue for romantic country weddings. Wedding Ceremonies are conducted outdoors in the Summer House, in the Tudor Barn, the Old Dairy and the Drawing Room and guests enjoy exclusive use of the whole property. One of the really interesting features of South Farm is the Romany gypsy caravans that have all been painstakingly restored and provide accommodation on site for guests of the wedding party.

Isabel bought her beautiful lace Sassi Holford gown and matching full length veil from Ellie Sanderson Bridal Boutiques the multi-award winning wedding dress shop run and owned by my lovely wife and the dressmakers there ensure it was a totally perfect fit, a quintessentially classic English hand crafted designer wedding dress on a beautiful bride. The full length veil blew perfectly in the gentle breeze meaning we got some really unique pictures. Isabel also got a pair of Weddington Boots to wear below here wedding dress as it was forecast rain!

Isabel & Dean were a beautifully understated couple, both lovely, lovely gentle people and they were hoping the weather forecast would be kind so they could achieve their dream of getting married outside in the Summer House in front of their closest friends and family. I very pleased that the weather held off and the ceremony took place outside in the Summer House over the water. As this was a Spring wedding the trees were out in full pink and white blossom providing the most beautiful backdrop for some of the signature photographs with the happy couple. Isabel & Dean have chosen to preserve theor memories in a beautiful timelsss Queensberry album 14×10 inches landscape in the signature DUO style with a contemporary blueberry leather cover. As I type this they are on their way over to the studio from Cambridge to collect their album, always a special moment and I really can’t wait for them to see it.
