Cliveden House is one of the UK’s most prestigious wedding venues, with elegant interiors, beautiful formal gardens and stunning views across the National Trust estate. Having photographed weddings at Cliveden House many times, I understand how the light changes throughout the day, the best locations for portraits in every season and how to work discreetly alongside the venue team. My aim is always to create beautiful, natural photographs while allowing you to spend as much time as possible enjoying your wedding with family and friends.

Cliveden House offers an incredible variety of backdrops within a single venue. Some of my favourite locations include the famous Parterre overlooking the gardens, the elegant Fountain of Love, the Terrace with panoramic countryside views, the magnificent interiors of the house and the woodland walks around the estate. Every wedding is different, so I choose locations that suit the season, the weather and the available light to create timeless, elegant photographs.

Most couples are surprised by how little time we actually need. I usually recommend around 20–30 minutes, often split into two shorter sessions. This allows us to create a beautiful collection of portraits without keeping you away from your guests for long. Because I know the venue well, we can move efficiently between locations while making the most of the available light.

One of the advantages of Cliveden House is that it photographs beautifully in every weather condition. The grand interiors, sweeping staircases, elegant corridors and covered entrance provide wonderful opportunities for stunning photographs if it rains. Over the years I’ve photographed weddings in sunshine, mist, rain and snow, and each has produced its own unique atmosphere. Some of my favourite images at Cliveden House have actually been taken on rainy wedding days.
