The beautiful grounds of Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire were the perfect setting for stylish same sex couple Jake & Adam to tie the knot on a beautiful sunny day in May.
The perfect weather
May weddings can be rather unpredictable when it comes to weather, but the sun was on our side and it was a glorious day when Jake and Adam came together to say their ‘I do’s. They said their vows outside the La Belle Époque conservatory, in the immaculately-presented gardens of Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire.
Arriving in style
A golf buggy was the mode of transport chosen by the couple to arrive at the ceremony – riding on the back – showing off their iconic red-soled Louboutin’s en route. Jake and Adam’s quest for fashionable footwear began with a rather memorable trip to London. Usually such a purchase in a designer store would be celebrated with a glass of Champagne, however, as Meryl Streep was in town promoting Mamma Mia!, the supply had been shipped off to her entourage, so the happy couple had to go without. But there were plenty of bubbles on the day to make up for it. In fact, even their wedding tables were named after different types of Champagne!
Dapper from top to toe, they both wore chic jackets to mark the occasion. Adam opted for a wine-coloured velvet number and Jake wore a baroque Dolce & Gabbana statement piece. The guests weren’t left out when it came to looking the part either, as Adam and Jake gifted everyone white-framed sunglasses for the outdoor ceremony.
The Wedding ceremony at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons
The ceremony itself was made extra memorable with heartfelt readings by their friend Kate and maid of honour Zoe, as well as the beautiful sounds of a string quartet. Afterwards, while the guests were enjoying canapés and drinks, I walked with the happy couple and their groomsmaids around the grounds, using the lovely greenery of the venue as a beautiful backdrop.
As well as a traditional wedding cake, the couple had a croquembouche dessert that stood there in all its glory for guests to admire as they enjoyed the sumptuous six-course wedding breakfast.
Party-goers were encouraged to share snaps of the fun with the wedding hashtag #JADAMWEDDING and online is one of the only places you’ll be able to see evidence of the party that ensued as I made a my departure after the wedding breakfast to leave the guests to really let their hair down.
The Wedding Flowers
If you are wondering who provided the incredible flowers at this wedding, it was the talented team at Le Manoir regulars Fabulous Flowers
