Lisa & Rich Wedding at Phyllis Court Club | Oxfordshire Wedding Photographer

It is always extra special when you have been booked for a wedding based on the wedding photographs you have produced for someone in the same family or for a close friend and I was booked by Lisa and Rich after I photographed Lisa’s older sisters wedding Julie at Friars Court a couple of years ago.  Their wedding took place on 7th April 2012 at a local church St James the Great in Ruscombe and then afterwards at the beautiful Thames waterside wedding venue Phyllis Court Club in Henley-On-Thames. I know Phyllis Court Club very well as a wedding venue in Oxfordshire that I have photographed a fair few weddings at. I have photographed it in Spring, Summer, Autumn and deep snow in Winter. With the spring flowers in abundance and the riverside location on a bright day weddings at Phyllis Court Club are simply beautiful. Lisa and Rich have two “lion’s mane” bunny rabbits that were originally planned to take a starring role in the photographs but logistic prevented this so they had to make do with lots and lots and lots of Lindt chocolate Easter bunny rabbits as presents for the guests at the wedding breakfast, couldn’t be more fitting for a spring wedding!

Lisa found her beautiful Alan Hannah designer wedding gown and jewellery at none other than Ellie Sanderson Bridal Boutique (plug for the wife there!!) and the fit was just perfect, she looked amazing, The Makepiece hand knitted woolen jacket are one-off made to order pieces available here at Ellies Wedding Accessories

After the wedding Lisa & Rich jetted off to a 3 week relaxing honeymoon in the Indian ocean.

Just yesterday I received this amazing testimonial from the couple after they had returned from honeymoon:

Heading: Bride + David’s photos = HAPPY

Description: We chose David as our photographer after he did a fantastic job at my sister’s wedding in 2010. We were not disappointed! We’ve just got our photos back from our wedding in April 2012 and we are really delighted with them. David has such a knack for catching the little moments, the unseen little stories of our day. When you go through them afterwards it’s like reliving the day and seeing all the things you inevitably miss as a bride and groom. I found myself grinning like a loon! His photos are gorgeous, with a wonderful mix of posed and unposed shots, colour and black and white. He’s also really discreet as a photographer, just blending in with the guests and being completely unobtrusive, yet missing nothing! I know we are going to have fun choosing the shots for our album, he has really helped us to produce a beautiful set of photo memories to treasure. We would thoroughly recommend David to any bride and groom looking for beautiful, natural and high class wedding photography.

It was my privilege to shoot the wedding at The Orangery in Kent of childhood sweethearts Hannah and Dan in August 2023. The pair met in a maths class at secondary school – Hannah sat next to Dan, he called her “stupid” and, in Hannah’s words, “it was love at first...
