The Crazy Bear wedding photography can sometimes be a challenge in winter if the ceremony is being held there in the Oak Room due to the ceremony room having a black carpet, black ceiling and often black chair covers with just a series of low small windows at one side so fast lenses and high ISO’s are needed if you want to avoid using flash (which gets sucked into the black ceiling anyway!). In the case of the wedding of Shaun and Amanda this was not an issue as they got married in a bright church in Abingdon and then had their very funky reception back at The Crazy Bear. This was very much a family wedding and the couples two young boys took a starring role throughout the day and looked super smart in their matching suits. I met Shaun in the local pub in Abingdon, Oxfordshire and am pleased to say he (just and I mean JUST!) beat Amanda to the church!
Once back at The Crazy Bear the party began in earnest and the couple had hired a fab traditional jazz band to play during the champagne reception and the meal which were a real bunch of very friendly and lively characters. The amazing flowers you see here were done by the one and only Matthew and Gary at Fabulous Flowers in Abingdon. Despite being late November the weather was gorgeous and the pictures of the couple were taken in the beautiful fading winter sunlight. The evening ended with Amanda’s hens from her hen night all dressing up in pink tops doing a Pink Ladies routine from the movie Grease!
