A Le Manoir Wedding with an incredible croquembouche for a cake, an amazing couple and not forgetting the torrential rain; the wedding of Jennifer and Deane was one of the most fun to shoot. When I was asked to cover this couple’s wedding, it was a bit of an honor; Deane is a well known Cinematographer in the UK, so he knows his stuff when it comes to getting the perfect shot….no pressure!
They held the ceremony and reception at La Belle Époqu, the private function space at one of my all time favourite venues Le Manoir. La Belle Époqu features beautiful architecture, with a mixture of traditional historical stone and a glass roof extension space, all with luxurious facilities, furniture and decor. The glass roof and doors gave a bright, fresh feel to the ceremony bringing the outdoors in – minus the rain!
Jen wore a stunning low back number from Berta bridal, whilst the groomsmen all looked very dapper in black tie, Deane himself sporting Tom Ford.
Here are some words from the bride and groom themselves:
“We could not have been happier with our beautiful photos. David had a challenge on the day as it was torrential rain. . However, David’s experience and talent meant we still ended up with the important images we wanted. My Dad and I walking down the aisle, which I thought we would miss as we were in a crowded room. Secondly the outdoor shots across the lake and on the steps. We also had some really original rainy shots due to great ideas from David – unexpectedly I am now glad it rained :)”
“My husband is a professional cinematographer – so was extremely picky about the types of images he wanted! We spoke to a number of recommended photographers and David seemed the most technically knowledgeable. Also I was very self conscious about having my photo taken and David made me feel really comfortable. During the engagement shoot I went from nervous wreck to loving it!!” Jennifer
“I’m involved in photography myself and we seem to have similar ideas about how to do it. It rained on the big day most photographer would have panic but David didn’t and used to his advantage creating I think better photos then if it would have been sunny ..a true professional” Deane
