Roland & Ros 3rd July 2010 – A very Vintage Wedding at Silchester House, Berks

I have photographed many brides in vintage inspired gowns but never one in an original actual 1940’s silk wedding dress until the wedding of Ros and Roland at Silchester House in Berkshire. It was my first time at Silchester House which is part of the Bijou chain that owns Notley Abbey and Botleys and I was delighted to find it was a lovely venue with lots of natural light flooding into the ceremony room there. Ros looked every bit the 1940’s vintage bride with her make-up and dark bob and it all just seemed to work!
The weather was stunning and despite some dubious weather forecasts the sun was still shining when I left the happy couple after their first dance. The guests were having a great time drinking in the late evening sunlight and the whole venue was cast in a warm glow.

Here are a selection of my favourite images from their day.
